International Workshop on Co-creative AI

As part of SensiLab’s Creative AI research, we are holding a workshop to explore the creative possibilities of emerging artificial intelligence systems.

This invitation-only, 5 day interdisciplinary workshop will bring together leading researchers, artists and theorists working on critical issues of co-creation and creativity using Artificial Intelligence.

Based at Monash University’s Prato Centre in the heart of Tuscany, Italy (17km north west of Florence), the workshop will provide a unique opportunity for sustained dialogue, collaboration and research at the intersection of creativity and technology.

Workshop Events Include:

  • Keynote talks from leading Creative AI researchers & artists
  • Cultural visits in Florence and Prato (reflecting on the history of art and design, and the place of new technological advances within creative practices).
  • Writing sessions in breakout groups
  • Panel discussions
  • Live demonstrations and creative performances using current AI technology

We are also currently pursuing an associated book publication with the participants of the workshop on the current and future use of generative AI systems. We expect the book will tackle issues of use, acceptability and ethics of state-of-the-art generative systems, as well as it will put forward new directions and models of human-machine co-creation in the intersection of Art and Technology.

There is no cost to attend the workshop, but you will need to fund your own travel, accomodation, living expenses and site visits in Prato. Places are limited. If you would like to attend please register your interest.
